COLUMBUS, Ohio — After rainfall to end the month of September, we have been waiting anxiously to see how that rain would impact our drought here in central Ohio.
The good news is that some regions saw a modest improvement, but the bad news is that our larger weather pattern and drought status remains about the same as last week. Most of central Ohio was under moderate drought last week, and that pattern continues this week as well.
The biggest improvements were in southern and eastern portions of the 10TV viewing area, where early week rainfall went unaccounted for during the update last week. Our forecast through the weekend shows little to no help for these dry regions until well into next week.
