CINCINNATI —

Cincinnati police have made an arrest after a deadly shooting in Evanston last Friday night, just blocks from Xavier University.

Officers were called to the area of Montgomery Road and Brewster Avenue around 7:20 p.m. on Sept. 26 for a report of shots fired. Advertisement

Shortly after, police say a gunshot victim arrived at University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. Cincinnati police identified the victim as Jawan Tyree Bates, 25.

On Thursday, police arrested Jamarr Harshan, 35, and charged him with murder and felonious assault.

The investigation by the Cincinnati Police Department's Homicide Unit is ongoing. Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 513-352-3542.
