The number of UK counties set to be hit with October snow has been upgraded to SEVEN. Maps and charts from WX Charts, which uses Met Desk data, shows the white stuff could be on its way to the UK within the next 10 days.

The advanced GFS model suggests there could be snowfall over parts of Scotland on October 12 and 13. Areas of Aberdeenshire, Banffshire, Invernesshire, Moray, Perthshire, Ross and Cromarty and Sutherland could all see snow on October 12.

On October 13, flurries could linger around Aberdeenshire, Angus, Banffshire, Invernesshire, Moray and Ross and Cromarty once again - but the depth would likely be less than 1cm, according to the projections.
