Old Dominion delivered one of its most dominant performances in program history Saturday night, overwhelming Coastal Carolina 47-7 in its Sun Belt Conference opener at S.B. Ballard Stadium. A strong performance by quarterback Colton Joseph, combined with a relentless defense, helped the Monarchs secure their fourth consecutive win.
With 20,895 fans in attendance, ODU jumped out to a 34-0 halftime lead and never looked back. The 40-point win marked the largest margin of victory for the Monarchs over an FBS opponent. This win improved ODU’s record to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play, the program's best start since 2012.
