LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Our more unsettled pattern looks to continue to start our work week, although we are missing out on the majority of the rain this go round.

We’re starting off our Monday with plenty of cloud cover as we are seeing most locations back into the middle 70s.

Drier air in the upper levels are still keeping rain chances minimal at best with the better coverage just to our east across the Atchafalaya Basin.

As we move throughout our Monday afternoon, we will see some sunshine mixing in with the cloud cover at times, but also the chance for a few spotty showers.

Areas to the west have a lower chance of rain today and as you slide east along the I-10 corridor a better coverage can be anticipated, especially if you head closer towards Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
