A pedestrian was hit by a bus and became trapped underneath it Monday morning, according to Boston Police.

Police went to 774 Albany St. in Roxbury at around 7:58 a.m. Monday after receiving a radio call for a crash involving a pedestrian, said Officer Mark Marron, a department spokesman, in an email.

Arriving officers were told a bus hit a pedestrian, who got trapped underneath the vehicle. Detectives from the Homicide Unit and members of the Fatal Collision Investigation Team are investigating the incident.

In the wake of the collision, police closed Albany Street in both directions between Massachusetts Avenue and Northampton Street. The Massachusetts Avenue Connector inbound toward Boston Medical Center is also closed.
