DALLAS — Dallas Police are investigating a stabbing that left a pregnant woman injured and her unborn child dead early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to a call about a stabbing around 6:35 a.m. in the 2600 block of Myrtle Springs Avenue. According to Dallas police, the woman was stabbed by an unknown suspect at the location. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment; however, her unborn child did not survive, police said.

The suspect's identity or motive was not immediately known.

DPD said the investigation is ongoing.
