SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — Motorists traveling along I-95 South in Sumter County should be aware South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will be conducting lane closures near mile marker 146 (near the Olanta/Lynchburg exit) to complete shoulder repairs in the area.

Work is scheduled to begin in the left lane of I-95 South early morning Tuesday, October 7, and will reopen by 5 p.m. that afternoon.

The right lane of I-95 South will be closed Wednesday morning, October 8, and will reopen by 5 p.m. that afternoon.

SCDOT encourages motorists to use caution in the area and to seek alternative routes, if possible. As always, drivers should slow down through construction zones and pay attention to road conditions.
