Syracuse, N.Y. ― A man was found Monday afternoon with a severe stab wound outside a former church on Syracuse’s South Side.

Around 1:54 p.m., a man with a stab wound to his abdomen was found on the steps of the former South Presbyterian Church, at 2110 S. Salina St., Syracuse Police spokesperson Kieran Coffey said.

The man’s injuries were serious but not life-threatening, Coffey said. He was taken to Upstate University Hospital.

Police have not determined exactly where the stabbing occurred, he said.
