LIBERTY, Mo. (KCTV) - The sentencing phase of a trial for the man found guilty of murdering a North Kansas City police officer in 2022 is beginning to wrap up.
Attorneys in the trials for Joshua Rocha will begin closing arguments on Tuesday morning. Rocha was found guilty by a jury last week for shooting and killing Officer Daniel Vasquez.
After final arguments, jurors will begin deliberations to decide if he should receive life in prison or the death penalty. This is the first time in 30 years that the death penalty has been sought in a case in Clay County.
