GREENBELT, Md. (DC News Now) – Months after his arrest and deportation, the future of Kilmar Abrego Garcia still is not clear.

Abrego Garcia, who originally is from El Salvador, was living in Maryland legally at the time of his arrest. He was wrongfully deported to El Salvador but was returned to the U.S. to face human smuggling charges after a traffic stop in Tennessee.

He had a brief reunion with his family before the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained Abrego Garcia again.

Dozens of his supporters gathered in front of the U.S. District Court in Greenbelt, Monday morning, calling for justice for Abrego Garcia. They wanted their support to be known before a hearing that was supposed to determine the next move for him.
