TOLEDO TOWN, La. – Controversy continues to consume a privately-run water system along Toledo Bend Reservoir – now with accusations of theft and investigations coming from the board.

But even those assertions are under scrutiny.

The Pendleton Water Association has been in turmoil for months with the board and its member-customers at odds about operations and future planning. A change in the leadership panel is in the works as ballots to fill seats of two board members who are termed-out are scheduled to be counted Tuesday. It’s uncertain, though, if the results will be made known after the process or delayed until the Oct. 21 regular meeting.
