SHREVEPORT, La. -- Shreveport police are asking for the public's help in locating a man wanted in identity theft at local store.

The Shreveport-Caddo Parish Financial Crimes Task Force is actively searching for Russell Hudson, 29.

In July, Hudson was captured on Best Buy surveillance footage opening a credit account using another person’s identity. He then maxed out the card, leaving the victim — who has no connection to Hudson —responsible for the debt, Shreveport police said in a news release.

Investigators obtained a warrant charging Hudson with identity theft.

The Shreveport Police Department is asking anyone with information on Hudson’s whereabouts to call 318-673-7300. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Caddo Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
