SALISBURY — More than 100 people will lose their job after Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) announced on Friday that it would be shutting down its facility in Rowan County.
The full-line plant, which is located at 1302 N. Salisbury Ave., will be permanently closed, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice filed by the company and sent to members of the Salisbury City Council.
According to the notice, all workers have been notified that the closure is expected to affect all of the employees at the business. All employees will retain their employment through the 60 day WARN period, with the layoffs occurring between Dec. 5 and De
