UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (DC News Now) -- A Capital Heights man is facing several charges, including vehicular manslaughter, after he allegedly killed 3-year-old Zoey Harrison during a chase with police in March.

State's Attorney Tara Jackson announced the charges Monday afternoon during a news conference in Upper Marlboro.

“The circumstances of this case are truly heartbreaking. A father and a mother are now grieving the loss of their 3-year-old child. A circumstance that, of course, no one wants to experience. Simply put, this should not have happened," Jackson said.

Jackson said Larry Naylor fled from police during a traffic stop on March 7 in District Heights. The child was in the car with her mother when they were hit on Walker Mill Road.
