Police said they have detained a person of interest in connection with a woman's fatal shooting last weekend in Southfield.
"We are happy to report a person of interest is in custody after the tremendous investigative follow-up," Southfield Deputy Police Chief Aaron Huguley said Monday in a statement. "Once the investigation concludes, the case will be forwarded to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office for a charging decision."
He said Southfield police worked with multiple Oakland County law enforcement task forces to locate the person of interest.
Officials said police and medics were called at about 11:40 p.m. Sunday to a home in the 18000 block of Bainbridge Drive near Southfield and 13 Mile roads for a report of a shooting.
