Habitat for Humanity Northwest New Jersey is searching for a location to open a ReStore in Sussex County, aiming to boost funding for its home building and repair programs.
The nonprofit currently operates an office in Newton but lacks the retail space that has proven valuable in other locations. According to volunteer coordinator Melanie Thiel, the absence of a ReStore in Sussex County limits the organization’s effectiveness.
“The ReStore locations are helpful because they boost the organization’s income and provide our volunteers with access to all of the sorts of resources they might need to furnish and repair homes we work on,” Thiel said. “Having a ReStore in Sussex County will greatly contribute to funding homes we build and home repair programs we provide.”
