MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a crash on Monday, police said.

Details are limited; however, photos posted by Pete Piringer, a spokesperson for the MCFRS, showed a vehicle off Route 108.

Around 3:05 p.m., officers responded to the area of Prince Philip Drive and Olney Sandy Spring Road for the report of a single-vehicle collision, Montgomery County Police said.

The car was shown on its side. A second photo showed that the roof of the vehicle had been removed and crews had a stretcher at the ready.

The driver was extricated from the vehicle by Fire Rescue personnel and taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
