UPDATE: An undercover operation by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) led to the arrests of nearly a dozen people on trafficking and child sex crime charges over the weekend.

Sheriff Darren Pierce says 11 people were arrested during "Operation H.O.O.K." (Hands Off Our Kids), which ran October 2-6.

The goal of the operation was to find people who try to arrange sexual encounters with a child online and those who try to pay for sex with children.

During a joint news conference on Tuesday, the WCSO and GBI announced the following arrests:

Daniel Joseph Clark, age 54, of Cohutta, GA.

Occupation: Truck Driver

Charged with Trafficking a Person for Sexual Servitude

Swami Shinde, age 28, of Cleveland, TN,

Occupation: Engineer
