GLENWOOD, Iowa (KCRG) - Eighty-one years following his death, a WWII soldier from Iowa will be buried.

Blaine Wilcox from Pacific Junction in southwest Iowa, was a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force. He was killed at 26 years old on Oct. 7, 1944, during a bombing mission over Germany.

The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency identified his remains April 1 this year.

There will be a burial for Wilcox at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Glenwood Cemetery. Wilcox will be buried with full military honors.

Flags in Iowa will fly at half-staff Tuesday to honor Wilcox. The half-staff order from Gov. Kim Reynolds will be in effect until sundown for capitol and state buildings.
