Longueuil police have made public surveillance camera footage of an individual described as a “person of interest” in their investigation into the abandonment Sunday night of a newborn child on the doorstep of a local home.

The 53-second clip, taken by a front door security camera, depicts what appears to be the figure of a man or woman walking down a street and carrying a nondescript bundle. The video has a time stamp of 10:49 p.m. Sunday, about 10 minutes before a baby boy was l eft on the doorstep of a home on Bourgeoys St. in Longueuil.

The person in the video is wearing dark clothing, tights or jeans and sandals.

Police are urging anyone who might know the person in the video or has information that could further the investigation to immediately call 911 or contact Longueuil police
