WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN) — Patchworking is a popular hobby but it's also the way one Wake Forest resident describes one the town's busiest roads.
Dr. Corliss Furbert, who drives down North White Street almost every day, has seen traffic pick up since she moved to the town in 2020, but not much progress when it comes to resurfacing the road.
"The pavement is uneven," she said. "It's unsightly. It's an eyesore. It's in a deplorable state.
"With these new buildings coming up, these townhomes behind me, and there's a church being built," she said. "People are coming to the area and they're having to deal with this street that is just uneven and difficult to navigate."
