CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Charlotte-Douglas International Airport is not currently anticipating impacts from the federal government shutdown, the airport said Tuesday.

The Federal Aviation Administration cited staffing issues at a dozen facilities on Monday, according to a Monday evening advisory .

A shortage of air traffic controllers at the Nashville airport caused a ground delay on Tuesday afternoon and is expected to last until 11:59 p.m.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said his administration was seeing a slight uptick in sick calls from air traffic controllers since the government shutdown began.

More than 13,000 air traffic controllers are working, though they won’t be paid until the shutdown ends, the FAA said.
