SEAT PLEASANT, Md. (DC News Now) — A local organization is bringing the community together later this month to shine a light on domestic violence and breast cancer awareness.
“Break the Silence,” hosted by "Together We Can," will take place on Oct. 25 in Seat Pleasant.
Founder Jeanette Brandon said the goal of the event is to empower and support those affected by domestic violence.
“I am hosting this event to bring awareness to domestic abuse with the hope of helping many women, men and children all over,” Brandon said.
The event will feature guest speakers, survivors and local leaders. Among those expected to attend are Sheriff John Carr and his team, Dr. Dee, mental health advocates and more. The National Anthem will be performed by Miss Tynette Daniels.
