A cold front is set to bring rain to Massachusetts overnight on Tuesday, leaving the state with cooler temperatures for the rest of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

The precipitation is set to begin first in the Berkshires between 9 and 11 p.m. Tuesday night, the weather service said. The rest of the state isn’t expected to start seeing rain until the early morning on Wednesday.

Areas further west and north are predicted to get showers beginning around 3 or 4 a.m., while communities to the east and south can expect to see precipitation around 5 or 6 a.m., the weather service said. Communities on the Cape and Islands are predicted to be the last to begin experiencing rain, between 9 and 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
