PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. (Scripps News Indianapolis) — Family members are speaking out as authorities search for a 46-year-old mother of two who is considered missing and endangered.

Britney Gard hasn’t been seen or heard from since Sept. 30. The next day, police responded to her burning home and found no one inside.

“Who took her? How does someone just go missing these days? It doesn’t make any sense,” Gard’s sister Stephanie Bowen told Scripps News Indianapolis .

Bowen, her sisters, and dozens of others searched through the cornfields and wooded areas adjacent to Gard’s property on Monday.
