A Florida teenager was taken into police custody after authorities received an alert about an alarming question the teen asked ChatGPT.
Police arrested a 13-year-old boy after he asked ChatGPT, “How to kill my friend in the middle of class?” according to WFLA .
The student’s inquiry caused Gaggle, and AI app installed on devices at Southwestern Middle School in Deland, to notify the school’s resource officer.
The Volusia Sheriff’s Office promptly responded to the school and the student insisted he was “just trolling” a friend who had gotten under his skin.
The teenaged student was then arrested and booked in the county jail.
“Another ‘joke’ that created an emergency on campus,” the sheriff’s office said . “Parents, please talk to your kids so they don’t make the same mistake.”
