SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The State of Texas is pursuing up to ten years in jail for a San Angelo man after his June 2024 arrest for elderly assault.

Robert Rodriguez, 42, is accused of assaulting an 88-year-old in a Walmart parking lot on 29th St. in June 2024. According to the press release, he and the man got into an argument after exiting a bus.

"The victim exited and then the defendant charged toward him and pushed the victim, causing him to fall down on his back in the crosswalk of the parking lot. The victim sustained injuries on his hand, knee, and elbow. The incident was captured on Walmart’s surveillance system."
