DAYTONA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Daytona Beach Police Department safely captured a green iguana found roaming around Daytona beach on Monday.

According to the Daytona Beach Police Department, the officers' quick teamwork in capturing the unexpected visitor allowed for a safe resolution.

The Daytona Beach Police Department published a video, jokingly stating the iguana's criminal charges.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission states that green iguanas can be humanely killed on private property with the permission of the landlord.

"Captured iguanas cannot be relocated and released at other locations in Florida," the FWC said. "If you are not capable of safely removing iguanas from your property, please seek assistance from a professional nuisance wildlife trapper."
