RONKONKOMA, N.Y. (PIX11) – A Ronkonkoma woman is accused of setting fire to her home with three children inside on Sept. 12, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
Police said 26-year-old Ashley Richard allegedly started the blaze at the Avenue C house around 6:20 p.m. Three children, ages 6, 9 and 13, were told by Richard to escape through a first-floor window, according to authorities.
Police said Richard also got out of the burning house. No one was injured.
Richard was arrested on Oct. 8 after an investigation by arson detectives, according to authorities. She was charged with arson and endangering the welfare of a child.
Richard is expected in court on Thursday.
