Suffolk County Police today arrested a woman for arson of a Ronkonkoma home last month. Ashley Richard intentionally set her residence, located at 255 Avenue C, on fire on September 12 at approximately 6:20 p.m. Three children, ages 6, 9, and 13, were in the home at the time of the fire and told to evacuate by Richard through a first-floor window. Richard also left the residence and no injuries were reported. Following an investigation by Arson Section detectives, Richard was arrested today at approximately 12:35 p.m. Richard, 26, was charged with Arson 2nd Degree, and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She is being held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on October 9.
