CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Three separate shootings left three people fighting for their lives overnight in Charlotte.

Two of the shootings happened late Wednesday night, while the third happened early Thursday morning.

The first happened on Winding Branch Court in north Charlotte around 10:50 p.m. Wednesday. The second on Central Avenue in east Charlotte around 11:15 p.m., and then the third around 1:15 a.m. Thursday on Commonwealth Avenue.

The shootings on Central and Commonwealth avenues took place less than a mile from each other, but it was not immediately clear if they were connected in any way.

One person was hurt in each shooting, with the person shot having sustained life-threatening injuries in each case, per Medic.
