GRANT PARK — Chicago is getting ready to once again host a Pokémon GO Fest, as it will welcome fans this summer with an immersive gaming experience, photo opportunities, merch and more.

The Park District announced the festival Wednesday after the board approved a two-year agreement to host the event, with an option to renew in 2027, according to a news release.

Pokémon GO launched the fest in Chicago in 2017, holding repeat events in 2018 and 2019. It’s since been hosted in various cities worldwide.

Pokémon GO Fest is expected to bring in 40,000 attendees per day and generate $1 million in permit revenue to support citywide parks, according to the Park District.
