ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Rochester Crossing Guard was hit by a vehicle in the crosswalk of Draper Street at Portland Avenue, sending the woman in her 70s to the hospital. RPD is asking for help identifying the suspect.

This morning, October 9, at 8:30 a.m., a city crossing guard was hit by a vehicle. While she was standing in the crosswalk on Draper Street, a gray Chevrolet Equinox appeared to make a right turn from Portland Avenue and hit her. She was holding her issued stop sign. The vehicle did not stop.

The Crossing guard, a female in her 70s, was transported to Stron Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact 911.
