The Phoenix Police Department is seeking public input on five policy revisions. The effort is part of the department's ongoing commitment to transparency with the community it serves, the department stated in a news release.

The policies updated for review are:

Spit sock

Irritants

Taser Energy Weapon (TEW) procedures

Impact weapons

Less-lethal launchers

Once finalized, these policies will:

Ensure law enforcement actions involving less-than-lethal tools are carried out by trained officers.

Guideline, deployment and documentation related to the use of less-than-lethal tools.

Include the addition of REPULS and Taser 10.

Include specific medical aid considerations when tools have been used.
