CANISTEO, N.Y. (WENY) -- A Massachusetts man was arrested by New York State Police early Wednesday morning after trying to meet a 14-year-old girl in Canisteo.

Troopers said 29-year-old Estefan D. Henriquez was arrested after he was spotted arriving at a prearranged location in the village of Canisteo. Police said he was taken into custody without incident. Henriquez is also accused of meeting the girl prior to his planned Wednesday meeting and sent multiple sexually explicit messages on social media leading up to the Wednesday meeting.

Henriquez is facing multiple charges including rape, kidnapping, attempted kidnapping, and attempted rape.

He was taken to the Steuben County Jail for arraignment. According to online records, Henriquez is currently in jail on $15,000 bail.
