UNION GROVE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A teen is being accsued of intentioanlly setting a mobile home on fire in northern Iredell County.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that deputies responded to a fire at 4:11 p.m. Tuesday on Butch Branch Road near Union Grove.

When the deputies arrived, local fire departments had extinguished the fire at the mobile home; however, it had been destroyed. The Iredell County Fire Marshal’s Office determined the fire appeared to have been intentionally set.

Iredell County detectives and investigators recovered evidence at the scene, interviewed neighbors, and reviewed nearby surveillance footage. They also recovered video footage that captured a male suspect fleeing the area shortly after the fire began.
