ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The latest phase near completion at the currently under construction $2 billion future home of the Buffalo Bills is something you will never be able to see from outside the new HIghmark Stadium.

On Tuesday crews began installing the natural grass field, which the team will be using when they begin play at the stadium in 2026.

"It should be done today," Erie County Stadium Corporation President Steve Ranalli said while hosting reporters on a tour of the stadium on Thursday. "It's about a three-day period where they were working around the clock to get it in because it's a live material."

The Kentucky Blue Grass sod was grown in New Jersey and was being installed by a crew from Ohio.
