WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A little more than two years since the latest conflict began, there’s finally a breakthrough with Israel and Hamas agreeing to pause attacks in Gaza and allow hostages to be freed. In Wichita, 12 News spoke with leaders in the Jewish and Muslim faiths about the developments.
“It’s very encouraging. It’s a giant step towards peace,” said Michael Davis, Rabbi Emeritus with Congregation Emanu-El.
Davis said he’s cautiously optimistic about the ceasefire.
“And with this particular government in Israel and the way things are among Palestinians, there’s just so many things that can get in the way, so many things that could step up and say, ‘I’m going to block that,’” he said.
