GRAND FORKS — West Fargo Sheyenne opened the boys tennis season by beating Grand Forks Central in Grand Forks.

It ended the same way.

Sheyenne capped a perfect season by handling the Knights 4-1 on Thursday night at Choice Health and Fitness.

The Mustangs, who co-op with Horace in boys tennis, won the team title for the second year in a row.

"They all did exactly what they were supposed to do — stay calm, cool and play to the best of their ability," Sheyenne coach Dan Gu said. "They've been doing that all season long. They didn't do anything less today. It's wonderful."

Sheyenne finished the season 21-0.

The Mustangs' closest calls came in a 5-4 victory over West Region champ Mandan in the regular season and a 3-2 victory over Grand Forks Red River on Thursday in the state semifinals
