HAMPTON, Va. — The Phoebus Phantoms made sure homecoming night was one to remember. Playing under the lights at Darling Stadium, the Phantoms rallied in the second half to pull away from Bethel, earning a 34–21 win and snapping their first two-game losing streak since 2016.
With the game tied at 7 in the third quarter, quarterback Maurikus Banks sparked the Phantoms’ offense with a key keeper to move the chains. Moments later, Tyree Diggs punched it in from a yard out to give Phoebus the lead 14-7.
Bethel (4-3, 3-2) tried to respond, but the Bruins’ drive eventually stalled. From there, Phoebus took control. Mikhail Georges capped another scoring drive with a two-yard touchdown making it 21-7, helping the Phantoms seal the victory.
