The Falmouth Education Foundation will honor Troy Clarkson and Donna Buckley at its annual gala on March 21.

Since January 2023, Buckley has served as sheriff of Barnstable County, the first woman in that role in the county’s 333-year history. Since her election she has focused corrections on programming, treatment and reintegration as the most sensible route to meaningful public safety. Previously she was general counsel to the sheriff’s office, in-house counsel to the National Association of Government Employees/ International Brotherhood of Police Officers, represented public safety unions in her own practice and worked for 17 years as a field consultant for the Massachusetts Teachers Association. She has also taught law and criminal justice courses at Massasoit Community College.
