Sandwich School Committee member Burton E. Fisher announced his resignation from the committee during a meeting held on Wednesday , October 8 .

“My house in Sandwich will close on November 4 and, as of that date, I will leave the excellent Sandwich School District and move to let’s say, politely, a far lesser district,” he said during the correspondence and announcements portion of the agenda.

Fisher said that his resignation will take effect on Thursday, October 23, the day after the last School Committee meeting he will attend as a member.

He said that he has not missed a regular School Committee meeting since being elected in 2020.
