SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Developer Dan Barnaba decided within the last six months that his latest housing project won't include natural gas.
"This will be the first community that I'm aware of in Central New York that's all electric," said Barnaba.
He's the president of Eldan Homes, working on a site behind the Dunkin' Donuts on Oswego Road, next to Flamingo Bowl.
"Heating the home, the cooking appliances, the fireplace, and the hot water heater will all be electric appliances," he said.
But Barnaba didn't have a say in the matter. New regulations take effect in January banning new natural gas hookups in New York, forcing the builder to install electric heating.
