WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Investigators in the District are searching for a person who allegedly shot a man during an attempted carjacking in Anacostia.

Just minutes after midnight on Oct. 10, officers responded to the 2200 block of Shannon Place SE to investigate a shooting, the Metropolitan Police Department told DC News Now.

There, D.C. police located a man who had been shot.

Police said the man was shot during an attempted carjacking.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment. As of Friday morning, the man's condition is unknown.

Early Friday morning, D.C. police issued a lookout for the suspect, who was possibly a teenager, wearing all black.
