BOWIE, Md. (DC News Now) -- An investigation is underway in Bowie after an armed robbery left a high schooler injured Monday afternoon.

Bowie police said officers responded to the reported armed robbery in the 15200 block of Annapolis Road just minutes after 2:30 p.m. This is in the area of Bowie High School.

There, officers learned that a person in a black Acura approached a Bowie High School student and demanded his Moose Knuckles jacket, according to police.

During the robbery, the teen sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

A bystander tried to follow the suspect's black Acura as it traveled westbound on Annapolis Road. However, the suspect fired two gunshots into the air, causing the bystander to stop following them, police noted.
