FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WBOY) — Fairmont State University kicked off it Homecoming excitement Thursday night in downtown Fairmont.

Students, alumni, and the community lined the streets as Fairmont State University launched its Homecoming celebration with a parade through downtown. Floats, student organizations and the Falcon Marching Band made their way down Fourth Street, continuing onto Fairmont Avenue and Adams Street, before wrapping up near Veterans Square.

Fairmont State University President Mike Davis was happy to see so many people come out to celebrate.

"The homecoming parade is a great way to bring our community and our campus together, you see all these kids who could be future Falcons," Davis said. "A lot of our community, alumni, everybody here is so connected to the university. I
