PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Several non-profits in Portland are hosting 'Conversations on a Bench' on World Homeless Day.

The 24-hour nationwide campaign wraps up at noon on Friday, October 10th, in an effort to spark candid conversations about the challenges on the streets.

Among the local organizations taking part in the live-streamed event is Portland Rescue Mission.

Interim CEO Erin Holcomb joined us on AM Extra live from a bench to tell us more about this unique and bold effort.
