EAST NEW YORK — BROOKLYN DISTRICT ATTORNEY Eric Gonzalez on Wednesday announced that Daryl Hicks, 40, of East New York, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for sex trafficking of a child, following the exploitation of a 15-year-old girl he lured from Harlem in late 2022. According to the investigation, Hicks approached the victim on a Harlem street, telling her, “You could be working for me.”

He and his wife, Michelle Wicks, 33, later posted the teen’s photos on escort websites and arranged commercial sex acts across Brooklyn. Detectives recovered the victim at the Imperial Hotel in East New York after she was reported missing by her mother. Hicks will also serve five years of post-release supervision and must register as a sex offender.
