LUMBERTON — The community mural paint day scheduled for Saturday in downtown Lumberton has been postponed one week due to the likelihood of inclement weather.
The event will now be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18 at the mural location at 302 North Chestnut Street in Lumberton.
Main Street Lumberton is seeking volunteers to help with painting the mural, which is being created as part of the national semiquincentennial in 2026.
Artist Max Dowdle will help guide the project, and the public is invited to help paint the bottom eight- to 10 feet of the mural. Supplies will be provided.
The event is perfect for Boy Scouts, youth groups and families to get involved, volunteer and make history, Friends of Main Street Lumberton said.
